Dear NCGCA members, exhibitors, and friends;
It is with pleasure and some trepidation that I write this first letter to the membership of this organization as its new president.
As you noted in the last letter from outgoing president John Parker, I was recommended for this position by the board of directors. At our April 2 meeting all nominees were elected by the members present. Just to re-cap: Don Voigt, President; Jim Devereaux, Vice-president; Richard Caviness, Secretary; Karl Mace, Treasurer and Show Chairman; David Bunn, Communication Director and Membership Coordinator; and Directors: David Brown, Bill Grist, Tim Hawkins, and Ed Hicks. My thanks to all for serving and helping the association to stay strong and grow.
We have another Morganton show scheduled for the weekend of August 13-14, with set up on the 12th. The April Morganton show was a near sell out, so please do get your reservations in early to preserve your table spot and number of tables required.
After visiting the show held in Salisbury in April, a quorum of the Directors and Officers have recommended that we join with Brandon Cupp for his show the weekend of September 10-11, with set up on the 9th. NCGCA will have available a block of 50 tables reserved for NCGCA members, which will be located in one section of the show. Tables for this show are 8 ft. and $60 each.
A flyer for the August show has been sent to those on our membership list. Please do get your reservations in as early as possible for each show. I would like to encourage those members who have not had a table in a while to “clean up” and bring some items for trade, sale, or show! There will be food available in the venue.
